Archiving lets you hide a child's profile from your active dashboard without deleting any of their data. It's ideal for children who are taking a break, have outgrown the platform, or when you want a cleaner dashboard view.
When to Archive vs Delete
| Scenario | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Child is taking a break | Archive â restore when they return |
| Child has outgrown Aletheia | Archive â preserve their history |
| You want to free a profile slot | Archive â slot frees up on Family plan |
| You're 100% sure you want data gone | Delete (irreversible) |
How to Archive a Profile
- Sign in to your parent account
- Click the child's card on your dashboard
- Go to Profile Settings (gear icon)
- Click Archive Profile
- Confirm the action
The profile disappears from your main dashboard immediately. All data is retained.
What Gets Archived
Everything associated with the child is preserved:
- Conversation history
- Flashcard decks and review progress
- Quiz scores and badges
- Stars, streaks, and achievements
- Subject and curriculum settings
How to Restore an Archived Profile
- Go to Dashboard â Settings â Archived Profiles
- Find the child's profile
- Click Restore
The profile reappears in your active dashboard. The child can sign in again with the same family code and PIN.
Note: Their streak counter will reset since they were inactive. All other data picks up exactly where they left off.
Profile Slots
Each plan has a limit on active child profiles:
- Free / Starter: 1 active profile
- Family: Up to 5 active profiles
- Family+: Up to 10 active profiles
Archived profiles do not count against your slot limit. So if you're on the Family plan with 5 active children, you can archive one to free up a slot and add a new profile.
Deleting a Profile Permanently
If you decide to permanently delete:
- Dashboard â Child Profile â Settings â Delete Profile
- Type the child's name to confirm
- Click Delete Permanently
This action cannot be undone. Consider exporting conversation history first (see your privacy settings).
