Quizzes are a fun way to test what you know — and earn ⭐ stars along the way!

How Quizzes Work

Quizzes happen naturally during your tutoring sessions. As you learn a topic, the tutor will quiz you when it thinks you're ready — you don't need to ask for one. The tutor weaves questions into your conversation to check what you've learned.

Question Types

The tutor mixes up how it asks questions:

• Quick-answer buttons — tap the right answer from a few options
• Typed answers — write your answer in your own words
• Mixed — sometimes you'll get buttons for one part and type for another

How Stars Are Earned

Stars are earned based on your quiz score:

The better you do, the more stars you earn! Scores below 60% don't earn stars, but don't worry — the tutor will help you understand what you missed so you can do better next time.

Mastering a Topic

As you work through a topic, the tutor tracks your progress. You'll need to show understanding across several questions and concepts before a topic is marked as complete. The system handles this automatically — just keep learning and doing your best!

Achievements & Avatar Unlocks 🎨

Quizzes contribute to achievements that unlock new avatar customization items:

• First Steps! — complete your 1st quiz → unlock starter items
• Quiz Whiz — complete 5 quizzes → unlock common items
• Quiz Master — complete 10 quizzes → unlock uncommon items
• Quiz Legend — complete 25 quizzes → unlock rare items
• Perfect Score! — get your first 100% → unlock uncommon items
• Perfectionist — get 3 perfect scores → unlock rare items

Streaks 🔥

A streak is how many days in a row you've been active. Log in and do at least one activity to keep your streak alive.

Streaks reset at midnight if you miss a day — so try to check in every day!

Hit streak milestones to unlock special avatar items:

• 7-day streak → uncommon items 🔥
• 14-day streak → rare items
• 30-day streak → rare items 🏆
• 100-day streak → rare items 🌟

Sound Effects

Quizzes come with sound effects to make learning more fun:

• ✅ Correct answer → cheerful chime
• ❌ Wrong answer → gentle "try again" sound
• 🎉 Perfect score → celebration fanfare!

You can mute quiz sounds using the bell icon during a quiz. To toggle text-to-speech (the tutor reading aloud), use the volume icon.
