Homework Helper helps you work through a homework problem when you are stuck. It won't just hand you the answer. It helps you figure it out.
Note: Homework Helper depends on your family's plan. If it won't start, ask your parent.
Starting a Problem
- Tap Homework Helper on Home, or Homework in the menu.
- Tap Start New Problem.
- Take a photo or upload a picture of the problem. Or type the question in the box instead.
- Tap Get Help (Help Me! for younger kids).
You don't need to pick a subject first. Aletheia tries to figure it out. If it guesses wrong, use the subject menu at the top of the chat to pick the right one, or choose Not one of my subjects. You can also pick a topic.
Working Through It
The helper asks guiding questions and gives hints, one step at a time. Try each step, then send your answer.
You can answer in the same ways as with the tutor: typing, voice, photos, the math keyboard, or drawing. See Using the AI Tutor.
On a bigger screen, a panel on the side shows the steps and your progress.
Finishing
When you solve it, tap I'm finished. Or tap the New problem button at the top to finish this one and start another.
Finishing counts toward your streak.
If there's something to practice more, you may see a button to keep practicing with your tutor.
Your Homework History
The Homework Helper page lists your past problems under Recent Sessions, grouped by day.
- Search by subject, problem, or words from the chat.
- Tap Resume to keep going on an unfinished problem, or Review to look back at a solved one.
- Tap the archive button to tuck a problem away. Find it again on the Archived tab, where you can restore it.
There is no delete button. Archiving just hides a problem from your main list.
Teacher Report
After a few messages, a Teacher report button appears at the top. It makes a short write-up of how you worked through the problem. Tap Copy Report to copy it and share it with your teacher.
Tips for Photos
- Use good light.
- Keep the whole problem in the picture.
- Avoid blurry or tilted shots.
- Crop out anything private, like names or addresses.
- One problem at a time works best.
Photos must be image files. On the start screen, pictures up to 20 MB are shrunk for you automatically. Photos you add later in the chat must be under 10 MB.
Common Issues
The photo won't upload Try a smaller or cropped picture, or type the problem instead.
The helper misread the photo Type the problem out, or send a clearer picture.
It won't give me the answer That's on purpose. Ask for a hint, an example, or help checking your work.
My teacher uses a different method Tell the helper which method your teacher wants, and it will match it.
