Not sure where something is? This page shows you where to find everything.

The Menu

The menu has three places. On a computer it's at the top. On a phone it's at the bottom.

MenuWhat's there
HomeYour subjects and learning tools
HomeworkThe Homework Helper and your past homework
ProfileYour avatar, name, read-aloud, and language settings

The menu hides while you're in a tutoring session or a homework problem. Use the back arrow at the top to leave.

What's on Home

Home changes a bit as you learn. Here's what you might see, from top to bottom:

  • Welcome — your stars, day streak, and badges. Tap any of them to learn more. There may also be a Continue card to jump back into a subject.
  • Sibling Challenges — dares from your brothers or sisters (only when you have one).
  • Your subjects — a card for each subject. Tap the card to learn with the tutor. Tap the Study Guide button on the card to open its study guide.
  • Learning tools:
    • Homework Helper — help with a homework problem.
    • Learn Together — study live with a sibling. See Learn Together.
    • Challenge a Sibling — dare a brother or sister to learn a subject.
    • Flashcards — review, practice, browse, or make new cards. A "due" badge shows when cards are ready to review. See Flashcards.
  • Daily Quest — one idea to practice today (after you've started learning).
  • Family Leaderboard — how everyone in your family is doing (only on some plans).

For quests, the leaderboard, and challenges, see Avatars & Rewards.

Inside a Subject

When you open a subject, you're in a tutoring session. The topics panel on the side lets you switch topics, see your quiz history, and open the study guide. See Using the AI Tutor.

Asking for a New Subject

Want to learn something you don't have yet? Ask your parent right from Home.

  1. Above your subject cards, tap Request a subject (I want to learn something else for younger kids).
  2. Pick an idea from the list, or type your own.
  3. Confirm, and it's sent to your parent.

While you wait, the request shows on Home under Your subjects as pending. You can have up to 3 requests waiting at once. When your parent says yes and sets it up, the new subject shows up with your other subjects.

For Parents: Answering a Subject Request

Requests show in a Subject Requests card on your dashboard and on your child's page. For each one:

  • Approve marks the request approved and opens the add-subject form for that child. Finish setting up the subject there. Your child only sees it once you create it.
  • Deny lets you add an optional message.

Note: Right now your child doesn't see a denial or your message. Their pending request just goes away. You may want to tell them yourself.
