Ready to learn? Here's how your child signs in and gets started with their very first session.

How Children Sign In

Children don't use email or passwords. Instead, they use a family code + PIN system that's safe and simple even for young learners.

  1. Go to aletheiatutor.com and click Child Sign In
  2. Enter the family code (shown in the parent dashboard)
  3. Select the child's name from the list
  4. Enter the child's 4-digit PIN
  5. Click Sign In 🎉

Parents: The family code is visible in your parent dashboard. You can share the direct link with family code pre-filled from the Family Login section on your dashboard.

The Child Dashboard

After signing in, your child lands on their personal dashboard. Here they'll find:

  • Subjects — view assigned subjects and start learning
  • Flashcards — review flashcard decks with spaced repetition
  • Study Guides — view generated summaries on topics they've studied
  • Profile — customize their avatar and see achievements
  • Streak & Stars — see their learning streak at a glance

Starting a Tutoring Session

  1. Tap or click Start Learning (or the chat icon)
  2. The AI tutor will greet your child and ask what they'd like to work on today
  3. Your child can:
    • Ask a question about any school subject
    • Say "I want to practice math" or "Help me with spelling"
    • Let the AI suggest what to study next based on their curriculum

The tutor adapts automatically to your child's age and learning level. Younger children get simpler explanations and more encouragement; older children get more depth and challenge.

What the AI Tutor Can Do

  • Explain concepts clearly at the right level
  • Generate practice problems and quizzes on demand
  • Create flashcard decks from lessons
  • Build topic trees and study guides
  • Track mastery and suggest what to review next

First Session Tips for Parents

  • Sit with your child for the first session so they're comfortable
  • Show them how to ask questions — "Can you explain fractions?" or "Give me a quiz on multiplication"
  • Sessions are automatically saved; you can review them in your parent dashboard under Conversation History
  • There's no time limit — sessions last as long as your child stays engaged

What's Saved After a Session

After each session, Aletheia automatically:

  • Saves the full conversation to your parent dashboard
  • Updates any flashcard decks touched during the session
  • Logs quiz scores and adjusts difficulty for next time
  • Updates your child's streak if they were active today
