Welcome to Aletheia. Parents create the family account first, then add child profiles for K-12 learners.

Sign-Up Options

Parents can create an Aletheia account with:

  • Email & Password - sign up with any email address and create a password.
  • Google Sign-In - use an existing Google account.
  • Apple Sign-In - use an Apple ID. If you choose Hide My Email, Apple may give Aletheia a private relay email address instead of your real one.

Use the same sign-in method each time you return. For example, if you created your account with Apple, use Continue with Apple when signing back in.

Parent Accounts vs. Child Profiles

Your parent account is for adults or guardians. After the parent account is created, you add child profiles from the parent dashboard.

For each child, parents choose one of the supported child access modes:

  • PIN - the child signs in with your family code and the unique PIN you assign him or her.
  • PIN + Email Account - if the child has an email address, you can choose this option to allow email/password or Google/Apple sign-in.

When PIN + Email Account is enabled, the child account setup flow can allow password sign-in and account linking with Google or Apple. Parents do not separately choose "Google" or "Apple" as the child sign-in method from the child profile form; those are linked later through the child account setup process.

See Child Account Setup & SSO for the full child setup flow.

Steps to Create Your Parent Account

1. Go to the Sign-Up Page

Visit aletheiatutor.com and click Get Started or Sign Up.

2. Choose Your Login Method

With Email & Password:

  1. Enter your name.
  2. Enter your email address.
  3. Create a strong password.
  4. Agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
  5. Click Create Account.
  6. Verify your email when prompted.

With Google:

  1. Click Continue with Google.
  2. Select or enter your Google account.
  3. Approve the basic profile permissions Aletheia requests, such as name and email.

With Apple:

  1. Click Continue with Apple.
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID.
  3. Choose whether to share your real email or use Hide My Email.
  4. Approve the sign-in request.

If you use Apple's 'Hide My Email' feature when connecting your account, your Aletheia account will be created with a private Apple relay email address, not your actual email address.

3. Complete Parent Setup

Depending on how you signed up, you may need to complete:

  • Email verification - required for email/password accounts before adding children or subjects.
  • COPPA parental consent - required before child profiles can be used.
  • Basic family setup - information needed to create your family account and dashboard.

These steps help confirm that a parent or guardian controls the account.

4. Add Your First Child Profile

Once your parent account is ready, add a child profile with age range, grade level, and the child access mode: PIN or PIN + Email Account.

See Adding a Child Profile for the next step.

Account Security Tips

  • Use a unique password if you choose email/password sign-up.
  • Keep your parent email current for support, billing, security notices, and password recovery.
  • Use the parent account only for adults or guardians.
  • When signing in, use the same provider you used at signup. If you signed up with Google or Apple, use that button instead of password reset.
  • If you use Apple Hide My Email, keep access to the Apple ID that created the private relay address.

Troubleshooting Sign-Up Issues

"Email already in use" You may already have an account with email/password, Google, or Apple. Try signing in with each provider you may have used.

I signed up with Google or Apple, but password reset does not work Provider-based accounts may not have an Aletheia password. Return to the sign-in page and use Continue with Google or Continue with Apple.

Google sign-in is not working Make sure you are using the correct Google account. If the popup is blocked or the page stalls, try a private/incognito window, disable blocking extensions temporarily, or use another browser.

Apple sign-in is not working Make sure you are using the same Apple ID you used at signup. Apple sign-in also requires a normal browser session with cookies and popups allowed.

I used Hide My Email and do not recognize the email on my account That is expected. Apple creates a relay address for privacy. Continue using the same Apple ID to sign in.

I created an account but cannot add a child Check whether email verification, COPPA parental consent, or plan child-seat limits are blocking setup. Email/password accounts must verify email first. All families must complete the required parental consent step.

The verification email did not arrive Check spam or junk folders for mail from noreply@aletheiatutor.com, then use the resend option from the dashboard. If you signed up with Google or Apple, email verification may not be required in the same way.

I accidentally created more than one parent account Do not create child profiles in both accounts. Contact support and include the email addresses or sign-in providers involved so we can help you sort out the correct account.

My child is trying to create an account Children should not create parent accounts. Sign in as the parent, add a child profile, and choose PIN or PIN + Email Account.

If you're still stuck, contact support and include the sign-in method you used: email/password, Google, or Apple.
