The first time your child signs in, Aletheia shows a short welcome before their Home screen. It takes about a minute, and it only happens once.
It appears whichever way your child signs in: family code + PIN, email and password, Google, or Apple.
The Welcome Steps
Dots at the top show your child's progress through five quick steps.
1. Welcome
Your child is greeted by their display name. The message is tuned to their age range. They tap Let's Go! to start.
2. Pick an Avatar
Under First, let's create your look!, your child picks one of eight starter avatars, such as an explorer, a robot, a bunny, or a fox. They can customize it more later from their Profile page. See Avatars & Rewards.
3. Choose a Favorite
What's your favorite thing to learn about? Your child picks one: Math & Numbers, Science & Nature, Reading & Stories, History & Geography, Computers & Tech, Art & Creativity, Sports & Games, or Surprise Me!
This doesn't add or change subjects. You manage subjects from the parent dashboard.
4. Try a Warm-Up Question
Your child answers one quick question matched to their age range. It's just for fun. Right or wrong, they get a friendly reply, and the answer isn't graded or saved.
5. All Set
Your child taps Ready to keep learning? to go to Home.
Your child can tap β Back on the avatar and favorite steps to change their pick. There's no skip button, so help younger children tap through if needed.
Note: The welcome steps are currently shown in English, even if the child's Interface Language is set to EspaΓ±ol.
What Gets Saved
- The avatar your child picked.
- Their favorite pick, saved to their profile.
- A note that the welcome is finished, so it won't show again.
What You Can Change Later
- Display name and age range: from the child's Settings, on the Profile tab.
- Avatar: your child can change it from their own Profile page.
- Subjects: from the parent dashboard. The favorite pick doesn't affect them.
Where Your Child Lands
After the welcome, your child arrives on Home and sees their subject cards. They tap a subject to begin. Many subjects start with a short placement check so the tutor knows where to begin.
See Your First Tutoring Session for what happens next.
